How a job is priced
| Kind of work | What you pay |
|---|---|
| Jobs on your documents that Yellowjacket plans and checks (contracts, invoices, statements, receipts and so on) | 35% of what the cheapest top model (Claude Opus 5.5, GPT-5.6 Terra Pro and Gemini 3.1 Pro, at list prices) would charge to do the same job alone, or our AI cost plus 25% when that is higher |
| Small one-off jobs sent straight to a top model, questions, AI debates, questions about your data, pictures, apps and software builds | Our AI cost plus 25% |
| Any of the above with your own OpenRouter key | OpenRouter bills you directly for the models; we charge a platform fee of 20% of the model cost from your credit |
"Our AI cost" is what the AI models billed us for your work. Before a job on your documents runs, you see what each top model would charge to do it alone and what it will cost on Yellowjacket, with an upper figure. You are never charged more than that upper figure, and a planned job never costs more than the cheapest top model would charge to do it alone; if the work costs us more, we absorb it.
A worked example
| Reviewing 10,000 contracts a month | Per month |
|---|---|
| Claude Opus alone | $551 |
| ChatGPT or Gemini alone | ≈ $300 |
| You pay Yellowjacket | ≈ $105 |
| You keep, vs the cheapest | ≈ $195 |
The Opus figure was measured on 80 real contracts (CUAD) and scaled up; the others are at their list prices. Yellowjacket's price is 35% of the cheapest. To price your own volumes, try the AI API cost calculator, or open the work desk and add your documents: every job is priced before it runs.
What you're never charged for
- Work that fails. If a job stops because of an error on our side or a provider's, nothing is charged for that attempt.
- More than you were shown. A job on your documents never costs more than the upper figure in its price, and a planned job never more than the cheapest top model would charge to do it alone.
- Work you stopped. Stop a job before it starts and nothing is charged. Stop it while it runs and it ends at its next AI call; you pay our AI cost plus 25% for the work done up to then, never more than the price it was quoted, and you keep what it had finished.
- Work waiting for credit. If your credit doesn't cover a job, the work desk keeps it and starts it when credit arrives. Nothing is charged until it runs.
Credit, pay as you go and refunds
Work is paid from prepaid credit in US dollars. Every new workspace starts with $0 of credit; you buy credit by card through Stripe, from $5 to $5,000 at a time. Card details go to Stripe and never reach us. Prices include any GST that applies. There is no subscription and no minimum spend.
Pay as you go is optional. Tick it when you buy credit and Stripe saves your card. When your credit falls below $2, or a job needs more than you have, we charge the card the top-up you chose ($10, $25, $50, $100 or $250), or a little more when a single job needs it, but never past the monthly limit you chose ($50, $100, $250, $500, $1,000 or $2,500 a calendar month). If a charge is declined or your bank wants you to confirm it, automatic top-ups pause until you buy credit again. You can change the amounts or turn it off at any time in Settings.
Unused credit doesn't expire. Credit you bought and haven't used can be refunded on request within 90 days of buying it: email hello@aiyellowjacket.com. Gifted credit can't be refunded. Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. The full wording is in the terms.
Questions people ask
Is there a subscription or a minimum?
No. You buy credit when you need it, or turn on pay as you go so your card tops up by itself within a monthly limit you choose.
How do I know what a job will cost?
Before a job on your documents runs you see its price, with an upper figure, next to what Claude Opus, ChatGPT and Gemini would each charge alone. You are never charged more than the upper figure, and a planned job never more than the cheapest of them would charge alone.
Why are questions charged differently?
Questions and small one-off jobs are answered directly by one model, without the planning and checking that make document jobs cheaper, so there is no saving to share. They cost cents and are charged at our AI cost plus 25%.
Can I use my own AI account?
Yes. With your own OpenRouter key, OpenRouter bills you for the models and we charge a platform fee of 20% of the model cost.
Can I get unused credit back?
Yes. Credit you bought and haven't used can be refunded on request within 90 days of buying it. Email hello@aiyellowjacket.com. Gifted credit can't be refunded.
What currency are prices in?
US dollars, for customers everywhere.
